    1. ikr. Try eating a total of 300 cals a day, workout for a bit because you burn 200 cals in your sleep. the next day dont eat anything, if you start to starve, munch on ice. Keep doing that, youll lose a BUNCH of weight

Once you get anorexia it's hard to get out of it and you'll only become even more unhappy with your body. If you already have one, these tips do help but at the end of the day it really isn't worth it. Your blood pressure will go down and if you keep exercising that can kill you! But if your like me, and being "perfect" is worth risking your life, then follow these tips.

      I see so many people on here romanticizing eating disorders. Anorexia isn't a "diet" you can just go on if you don't want to eat healthy and exercise.
      If I was a parent, and found out my kid had an eating disorder, I'd sure as hell help them through it.
      Honey if you're 13, eat better foods and exercise a few times a week. Don't starve yourself. I almost died from this.

    6. 13 is definitely too young. Be healthy, eat lots of veggies, fruits and lean meats. Always eat clean (nothing processsed... meaning in a box or packaged. Just raw REAL food) and you will be thin, beautiful AND healthy. I agree, don't starve yourself. Your body isn't developed enough and you'll do irreparable damage to major organs or, worse (maybe better)... death

    7. I was 12 when I started this. I'm now 29, and I can tell you that it definitely ruined my body during my teenage years. I stopped growing, so now people make short jokes. But I'd rather have short jokes than fat jokes. Also, I was a gymnast, and I had to give that up when my coach kicked me off the team because I was no longer strong enough. When my friends suspected I had a "problem" and told my mom, I ended up in therapy, which just pissed me off and made me more rebellious and determined to continue on this track. So I'm telling you guys, the worst thing you can do for a teen going through this is to NOT tell them to stop. I am happy to share with you how it affected me and how I wish I wouldn't have started it, but I will not tell you to stop. I can advise you that eating healthier is a good start, but please don't stop eating. I'd hate to see any young person who has a good shot at life end up like me. Yes, I agree you are definitely too young to be on a site like this. My mom would have kicked my ass. So please get off this site until you're an adult, and go do things kids do, like play sports, ride your bike, get out and have fun while you can. If you're going to stick to this, then you probably won't have many years left to enjoy doing those things. I wish I could go back to do it over, but I can't, and now I'm living with the damaged body I created. Hopefully you will take my advice. Eat healthy, exercise, and stay off these sites, kid.

    1. you are being raised by parents that know far more about eating disorders than you think they do, more than their own parents. the parents raising kids right now either have an ed, used to have one, or know several people that have personally. they know the signs and cues, and all the "im a vegitarian now because of animal rights or health reasons or blahblahblah" - theyve heard it - they know the pro ana sites online, and many have accounts on them as well as fb, twitter, instagram, tumbler and so on - i know parents that are on their kids friends list and the kid has no clue. they know the supplements kids take, even the tums or sugarfree gum. they know running water in the bathroom and swollen cheeks, the ziplock bag you barf in or hide under the table at dinner to stash bites when no one is looking. fooling people around you isnt happening much any more - the adults you try to hide from invented and perfected the tips and tricks you think work.

I'm a 34 yr old mother to my 11 yr old son. Because I know there may be genetic factors I do monitor my son's eating/exercise habits and endorse and teach healthy living and habits. I know all these tricks and tips, plus more...I also became vegetarian at age 16 for cutting out food groups and for weight loss, still am vegetarian and now can't even keep down any protein, dairy, fats even if I wanted to. This is a terrible illness, and I would be soooo sad if my son started down this path because I know first hand what it's like, and it is hell. I'm lucky to be alive, could have died many times and came very close to death a few years ago when I was hospitalized for heart palpitations, low blood pressure and pulse rate, critically low potassium, calcium, and sodium, anemia, low hemoglobin (red blood cell), gastritis, and stomach bleeding. This is very serious, not pretty in the end......what's the point in being skinny if you're on death's door? What's the point in anything if you're just going to die? and you will eventually if you keep this up. You will waste your childhood and ruin your entire life. You will hurt everyone around you because your family and friends really do care and love you! you are beautiful, please don't do this. Please get help while you're still young and healthy......I wish I did, because it truly is hell. These people are right, it's very hard to trick parents these days. Also, eating clean and exercising is truly the best way to go!!

  7. one thing that I do that actually made me lose 12 pounds in 2 weeks was to just drink green tea all day (cold or hot, sweet n low as sugar) - 0 cals... and if I get hungry eat half an apple with a LITTLE almond butter (which is better then penut butter) plus it fills u up so much!!!! try for real... it worked. Also do 100 crunches and 40 leg lifts each night :)

  12. I would add "Protein Powder" to the list. My Protein Powder is only 28 cals per tablespoon. Protein might help prevent hair loss (hopefully).

    1. protein is ESSENTIAL for muscle tissue and muscular function - without it, muscle tissue withers. your heart and your brain are muscles and cardiac complications, including failure, are common in eating disorders. youre concerned about hair loss? dying in your sleep in a pool of excrement with a full head of hair.... be smarter than that and eat protein. do some research and find out the many other reasons you require protein (keeps you full, burns clean rather than stored in fat cells, nourishes muscle tissue which keeps resting metabolic rate high so you have a higher metabolism even while doing nothing and while sleeping.....)

Your body also needs complex carbohydrates, such as green leafy veggies and whole grains (brown rice, quinoa, amaranth, oats, barley, flax sees, wheat germ-if you eat wheat, gluten, etc). Please please talk to your parents about getting some help....would be great to work with a therapist, psychiatrist, and nutritionist, plus get a physical from your primary care doctor to see what nutrition you are lacking, to check your electrolytes, and complete blood count.   25. tbh bullion cubs are the worst for you. the sodium content is so high. the salt will end up making you bloat and swell...thats no good. so rather than that i would suggest low sodium broth diluted with water. then just add whatever vegetables you want.

  27. I'm 18, 5'4 and 165lbs. I can not seems to lose weight at all and i'm tired of people treating me like i'm a pig. I've tried everything and so now i'm finally choosing ana. If anyone wants to help me with my journey I would appreciate it so much. I'm depressed and can barely even talk about that with anyone and so I don't have any friends that could help me with this either. I just want to be beautiful again. I'm on birth control and I think that is some of my problem, I've gained like 15lbs because of it but I can't be taken off of it because it helps regulate my periods. Any help with that?

  28. Unsweetened almond milk is only 30kcals in 1 cup. Even one full serving of cereal is just one cup so sometimes 1 cup of milk is too much with 1 cup of cereal.

I'm a vegatern I eat a lot of veggieband fruits. And water I cut my Cal from 2,000 to 1,000 and work out 3-4 time a day what do I do?

  34. This site became my happy place really quickly. I'm really overweight (almost 200 lbs) and I'm so tired of people making fun of me and being fat, I tried all diets possible and nothing ever worked but I'm going all in this time.
    I'm only eating 150 or less calories per day and trying to exercise at least once a week, so far I haven't seen any results but I'll keep going strong.
    Hopefully I'll be able to be skinny and pretty like I always wanted.

  35. The way you look isn't everything!!! All of you are beautiful in more ways than one and you shouldn't have to eat 300 calories or less a day in order to lose weight or feel good about yourself. It hurts my heart that some of you amazing people feel you need to starve yourselves to reach your goals. You could die from doing this! Keep your head up and strive to be healthy, not just skinny.
